Collection and recycling of aerosol cans at Perekrestok
In February 2022, Perekrestok and Unilever launched a joint project to collect and recycle used aluminium aerosol cans. Special containers have been installed at the entrances of 20 supermarkets in St Petersburg.
The underlying idea is that aluminium does not lose its properties when used and so can be recast and recycled. All collected cans will be sent for recycling and reused within urban infrastructure, including benches, ramps and playgrounds.
